Team AJ!!!!

Fact: CC Sabathia shouldn't have pitched yesterday's game.  We all criticize  the choices that Girardi Makes, but when we first talked to Girardi after Game 1 was cancelled, he said, He didn't want to put CC up Monday night, He was going to put AJ up.  Somewhere between there and Sunday night, that all changed.  He went with CC for game 3, maybe because people wanted to see the Aces battle it out, maybe because CC wanted to pitch, we won't know why he changed he mind.  People wanted to see a battle of the Aces and that is not what we got at all.  With the help of the home plate umpire Verlander dominated the Yankees last night, or did he?! I didn't think he was all that, I think that we wasted quite a few opportunities in which we could've scored some runs.
Another thing I noticed last night, Soriano came in for CC, and did an excellent job closing that inning, then the game was tied, and then Soriano came back out, and we all know the rest.  This year we have some strong people in the bullpen, why are we not  bringing them out, had that run not scored, the game could've gone completely different, but it didn't ....
We all know what our weakness are.  I was quite upset when after the game I looked at my news feed and my timeline and saw nothing but fair weather fans, talking about how we are done, because AJ is pitching today.  Wanna know something?!? It isn't just AJ's responsability to bring this series back to the Bronx, he is NOT the only guy in the roster, EVERYONE needs to step it up, from Burnett, to Mr. Pop 'em up Tex, to Girardi, hell even to Derek Jeter who left quite a few runners stranded last night.
Trust me AJ Burnett knows what we are thinking, he knows how many Yankees fans have mixed feelings about him, but it is important that he gets the support that he needs, from fans and from his team.  Yankees gotta score some runs early, they gotta play this game for what it is A MUST WIN.  I have high hopes for AJ and the Yankees, they have always stepped it up when they need to, Did I want them to be in this position? No, but is it what they needed to pressure them into performing their best? Maybe!
I believe in AJ Burnett, and he believes in himself too, on an interview he said: "I've been proving people wrong my whole career.  People are entitled to their opinion.  Obviously I give them reasons here and there to doubt.  The bottom line is, I have confidence in myself"
I believe this series will return to the Bronx.  I believe that the power clutch hitters will shine tonight.... I am excited and looking foward to tonight's game, and in case you still got your doubts, allow me to take you on a trip down memory lane, remember Game 3 of the 2009 World Series, that is the AJ that will show up today... Trust me :)
Just remember to be a true fan no matter what, and to support your team :)
That last pic of Jeter, has nothing to do with this post, it is only for eye candy purposes :)
LET'S GO YANKEES!!! TEAM AJ!!!

So Not Cool!

How 'bout them cardinals?!?! Yes, that's the way I will start this blog because there's quite a few things that upset me about yesterday's game and don't even know where to start, or how to address most of these things, so I guess I'll start by bitching TBS out.  Why is it that you can't show us Yankees fans the first pitch, again, another very special first pitch, and we just don't get to see it, just because they don't feel like airing it? I mean come on, it was Andy Pettite, another man we have waited all year long to see!  So if you missed it, here's some pics!

Now, from now on, we must make sure no Umpire EVER asks Garcia to take his wristband thingy off, he did not react well to that allowing two runs on the first inning, but don't think I'm going to blame this loss on him, because I actually believe Garcia didn't do too bad, He pitched a decent game, but the Yankees offense didn't respond well.  We didn't even have a hit til the 6th inning was it?!?!  Hey wanna hear a cool fun fact?! Granderson is the first person to hit a postseason Homer as a Tiger against the Yankees, and as Yankee agaisnt the Tigers, thought it was pretty clever!

Now I have a bone to pick with my fellow Yankee fans, Booing A-Rod, really?! That's just unclassy, I am sorry, yes I'll admit he is not having a very good series, but it's only day 2 of the postseason, thats my first point,my second point is, he's doing his job very well deffense wise, Point number 3, if you're gonna boo one, boo them all, Jeter was 0 out of 5, Tex did nothing but Pop 'em up 4 times, and until his 9th inning home run, Swisher was just striking out,  Swish was 0-4 yesterday, and only 1 today, my point here they are not all shinning, it isn't fair to A-Rod, who's already having his worst season to date, to get booed by his own fans, have you not heard how much people hate him when we go to visiting ballparks, the last thing he needs right now is for his home games, to sound as if we were in Seattle or Texas, come on fans, support the man, we can be a lot clasier than that!

Yes, I'll admit A-Rod is one of my favorite players, and I'll also admit I can't wait for him to put his big boy pants on and start giving us what he should as the 4th man on the lineup, but if he doesn't, it isn't the end of the world, truth to be told, we are not we are this season thanks to him anyways, so what all do you guys expect from him, last i checked he was hurt most of the year, Cano, Granderson and Tex are the ones that carried the lineup, and I do believe that when Girardi made the lineup changes, if he left A-Rod as the 4th batter it is because, he has faith in him, shouldn't we all have faith in him, Maybe and just maybe if we all get on our feet, and clap for him and cheer him on, maybe we'll see what we all have been waiting to see, for two games now, Keep that in mind before you BOO!
Okay my fellow fams. I apologize, but I had to get that out, Yankees needed to win yesterday's game to assure the series came back to the Bronx, so we really, really need CC to step it up today, I don't doubt CC, but his winning record at Comerica Field isn't the greatest, but this is the playoffs, and it is completly different than pitching a regular season game....
IN CC WE TRUST!

How to make a Perfect Playoff win

First you need a Rookie pitcher who hasn't lost a game since June and isn't about to lose anytime soon
;
Then you're going to need Robinson Cano at bat with the bases loaded:
Add a Fantastic Deffensive Play by Derek Jeter that involves getting a runner out at home plate:
After mixing all these ingridients together, be sure to season it all up with a Lil Mo at the end:
And VUALA!! You have victory in game 1 of the ALDS 9-3. What a great game last night's game was, and if there was ever any doubt on how Super Nova was going to do with the so called "playoffs nerves" he sure put the rumors to end, What an amazing pitching performance by the Rookie, When he was taken out in the 9th inning he got a much deserved Standing Ovation.  And How bout that Robbie Cano? 6 RBI's, which is a new record, been done in the Playoffs before but not in the ALDS. I have to say I am very proud of Nova, super impressed by Cano, he always finds new ways to make my jaw drop. And that play by Jeter... SICK!!
It was announced that CC will be pitching Game 3 in Detroit against Verlander, and if a game 4 if needed, AJ Burnett will be starting...... Let's go Yankees... SWEEP, no really, SWEEP!!!
Crossing the fingers that Garcia BRINGS it today!!!!!

Rain, Rain.. GO AWAY!

Last night's game was nothing like what we all expected was it? I was expecting a long drawned out pitchers duel.  That is not what we got, not even that entire inning we did get to see.  I didn't think that Verlander was pitching his best game, which is one of the main reasons why I was so mad when they called the game, but I wasn't mad to see Joe Torre's face, I still miss him, his face just reminds me of all those fabulous, glorious Yankee years.  Okay, I am definetly going off subject here.  I am going to start this blog with a HUGE complain.  TBS didn't show the first pitch.  The moment I found that Mo pitching to Posada was going to be the first pitch, I couldn't wait to see it, I even got a little emotional, us fans have been looking foward to that moment all year long, and we didn't even get to see it, they showed the first pitch for the other game, why didn't we get to see ours?!?!?! That made me a little sad, I wanted to see it! Maybe it was a good thing they didn't show it though, I would've probably cried all night long afterwards, my eyes got even watery when I found out that's what the first pitch was, here's a picture in case you didn't get to see it:

Well with the rain, Verlander and Sabathia are forced to not be able to finish their game, which isn't very good news for the Tigers, since Verlander is their best pitcher, Yankees still have a few options, Girardi stated that he would Start Nova today, to finish game 1, and have Garcia pitch game 2 Sunday and after that: "We'll see".  Meanwhile the Tigers have already announced they will be bringing Verlander back Monday night for game 3 in Detroit, on short, very short rest.  A lot of fans are wondering if the Yankees will be bringing Sabathia out again Monday, but we'll have to wait and see what happens, I (just my personal opinion, don't flip) think that if we have a 2-0 lead on Monday night, Yankees shouldnt use Sabathia on short rest, besides, Verlander was not really pitching all that great last night, the Yankees shouldn't be worried or intimidated by him, Girardi did mention using Burnett as a started, guess we all are gonna have to wait and see how it all plays out, but for now let's hope the rain stays away and LET'S GO YANKEES!!!!
